We have gone through educational and hands-on training programs for safety, handling, bathing, and haircuts for both cats and dogs. I was the top groomer in the district during my time with corporate and am still in the pursuit of continued education to keep me up to speed on any and all needs. We have a full transparency policy where we let you know exactly what your little one has concerns or fears with and do not force them through anything to build a meaningful, quality relationship. We provide double filtered and copper-purified water for our baths and only use the highest quality products and equipment available with all-inclusive service.

Why Roman's Empire was made

Roman's Empire was created to honor pets the same way Roman is honored and pampered. I believe every pet deserves the utmost respect and attention to detail that I give my own. Grooming is often stressful and dangerous, and more often than not, businesses will not respect when a pet cannot handle certain things or will refuse to give them time and patience to get comfortable, causing fear and stress surrounding grooming. It is important to note that forcing pets through anything they are blatantly telling you is crossing a boundary, which greatly differentiates from fear or nervousness, can result in seizures, heart attacks, permanent brain and or heart damage, and even death. Only 1 out of 6 grooming businesses I've worked for have respected your pets. So, in honor of my fur baby, allow me the pleasure of honoring and serving yours to change the industry for the better.

What Does Fear Free Entail?

Fear Free means we do not force any pet through any service they are uncomfortable, stressed, or fearful with, going at their pace. This can mean certain services will not be performed until a trusting relationship has been established and until progress has been made surrounding their area(s) of concern. This rewires their brain to have a more relaxing experience and gives them more control, easing the mind and body over time.

What Does The AKC Safety Certification Mean?

The AKC Certification requires a course and passing scores curated by The American Kennel Club to uphold safety standards in the salon regarding handling, proper and safe product usage, equipment usage, and overall salon procedure. Given the grooming industry is unregulated, this upholds integrity, high standards and our dedication to your pet's safety and wellbeing.

My name is Ottillie! I have my soul kitty named Bug, who is a beautiful torti, and of course my soul pup, Roman. I was the top groomer in my entire district during my time with corporate. I've been an animal lover my whole life and was inspired by my dad; He fueled my love and passion for all animals. I would not be who I am or where I am if it was not for him. I am the first business owner in my entire family. During my retail days, I experienced homelessness at 18 years old. During this time, I saw an open position for a grooming apprenticeship and took it. I absolutely fell in love with caring for pets and making them clean, beautiful and smell amazing and got out of homelessness through grooming. Even though I've never had any role models or mentors, I refused to accept the lifestyles of those I've grown up around, and have always stuck out like a sore thumb, even in this industry. Though I used to interpret that as a negative thing, it is now abundantly clear I am here to change industry standards.
