The story behind that philosophy begins long before Roman's Empire ever existed.
Why Roman's Empire Exists
Before Roman's Empire existed, we spent years working within the grooming industry.
We saw incredible groomers who cared deeply about the animals in front of them. We also saw systems that often prioritized speed, convenience, and routine over thoughtful handling and long-term relationships.
Over time, one question kept coming back:
What would grooming look like if every decision started with the pet instead of the process?
Roman's Empire became our answer.
Rather than asking pets to adapt to the grooming experience, we built a grooming experience that adapts to the individual pet. One where consistency builds trust, thoughtful handling is the standard, and every appointment contributes to your pet's long-term comfort and well-being.
That question still guides every decision we make today.

Why Roman?
Roman's Empire is named after our Shih Tzu, Roman.
When we brought him home, he was critically ill with parvovirus. During one of the most difficult experiences of our lives, we saw firsthand how overwhelming pet care can feel when communication is unclear, trust is uncertain, and you're simply trying to do what's best for an animal you love.
Roman recovered, but the experience changed the way we think about caring for pets.
He became the standard we measure every decision against.
Today, every pet we groom is cared for with the same patience, thoughtfulness, and respect we would want for Roman.
The People Behind Every Appointment
Roman's Empire is built around consistency.
Every appointment is personally performed by Lead Stylist Ottillie, allowing pets to build familiarity, trust, and a relationship that grows over time rather than starting over with someone new each visit.
Supporting each appointment is Operations Manager and Grooming Assistant Brandon. From preparing the mobile salon and maintaining the systems behind every visit to assisting during appointments whenever an extra set of hands is beneficial, Brandon helps ensure every pet receives the same thoughtful experience from beginning to end.

The grooming industry continues to evolve, and so do we. Continuing education isn't something we pursue to collect certifications—it's how we ensure every decision we make reflects current knowledge, safer handling techniques, and a deeper understanding of animal behavior.
