We proudly take the time great grooming requires, because your pet’s wellness and comfort are non-negotiable. This commitment means we charge what our work is worth—but with no surprise fees or withheld services.

Roman’s Empire was created to honor pets as we honor Roman, our beloved dog. Grooming can be stressful and even dangerous when pets are forced through procedures or ignored when showing clear signs of distress. This is unacceptable to us.

Roman’s Empire is built on intentional, ongoing educational training programs for equipment, products, sanitation, handling, behavior, breed standards as well as real-world knowledge from working with a variety of breeds, temperaments, and grooming challenges.
Only 1 out of the 7 grooming businesses I’ve worked for truly respected pets’ boundaries and mental wellbeing. This inspired me to start Roman’s Empire—to change the industry from within and protect pets like Roman and yours from fear and trauma.
Our Commitment to Fear-Free Grooming
Fear-Free means never forcing a pet to do anything that causes stress or fear. It means working at their pace, building trust over time, and understanding that some services might require patience and progress. This can mean certain services will not be performed until a trusting relationship has been established and until progress has been made surrounding their area(s) of concern.
This approach rewires their brain to have a more relaxing experience and gives them more control, easing the mind and body over time and creates a confident, trusting pet.
What Does the AKC S.A.F.E. Certification Mean?
The AKC Certification requires a course and passing scores curated by The American Kennel Club to uphold safety standards in the salon regarding handling, proper and safe product usage, equipment usage, and overall salon procedure.
Given the grooming industry is unregulated, this upholds integrity, high standards and our dedication to your pet's safety and wellbeing.

I’m Ottillie, the owner and lead groomer. After overcoming homelessness and finding my path through grooming, I committed to excellence, education, and empathy.
I became the top groomer in my district during my corporate career, but my true passion is raising grooming standards—building a business grounded in safety, compassion, and respect.
Roman and my kitty Bug inspire me every day to create an environment where pets are cherished, heard, and cared for with dignity.
